("Late Afternoon Light at Artist's Point")
This painting depicts the Yosemite Valley as seen from a little known place called
"Artist's Point," named in tribute to the many 19th century artists who favored it
as a sketching ground.
When Tom was only 30 years old, he
won a contest over 2,600 other contestants to the National Park Service "Arts
for the Parks" contest. This is the painting that won and his entry was
chosen over all the other submissions (1985). This launched him into
National view and started his upward spiral into being the Nation's #1
Artist. This image was used for the 1989 National Parks Stamp program and is
embossed in the lower left hand corner with the Official National Parks Art
Collection emblem. This is the ONLY Kinkade that was made into a stamp.

++++ About the Publisher Proof Edition ~~
Publisher Proofs (P/P)
The Publisher Proofs are limited to 12% of the Standard Numbered total
edition size, making the edition scarcer and more desired. These
lithographs on canvas are individually hand highlighted. P/Ps are
designated with the letters P/P during the numbering process. Each piece is
individually hand-numbered with an P/P designation after the print number to
correspond with the certificate.
These are considered highly collectible due to the very small amounts made
and these sell out faster than any other edition as a general rule.
