This painting was done as a tribute to Norman Rockwell. A Holiday Gathering, 9th in Thomas Kinkade's popular "Christmas Cottage" Collection received national recognition as NALED's 1998 1st
Runner-up for Lithograph of the Year and is the first in the series to feature a Victorian home.
A Holiday Gathering features 4 hidden N's in tribute to his wife, Nanette.
The happy couple walking their dog is Thom and Nanette. Norman Rockwell is also represented in the painting strolling right behind the happy couple.

Renaissance Edition (R/E)
The Renaissance Edition is a special reserve
edition created with a textured brushstroke process that recreates the
artist's actual brushwork. It is then finished in oil by a master highlighter
who applies a special Remarque to the back of the canvas. (This is a
sketch) Each unique canvas is created under the artist's close supervision.
Upon satisfactory completion, the artist hand signs the front of the canvas
and a foil stamped silver Renaissance Edition seal is applied to the back. Each
Renaissance Edition is designated by the letter R/E after the print number.
RENAISSANCE EDITION Renaissance Editions are limited to not more than
(usually less) 8.75% of the Standard Numbered edition. The R/E is TEXTURED to
match every brush stroke of Tom's original. Individually hand highlighted
by Thom's Master Apprentice under his direct supervision. Special Water Mark
Remarque on the back of each canvas. R/E's are 3 times the Standard
Numbered price. Additional Hand Signature by Thomas Kinkade on front of
canvas.

"The holidays aren't only about the great spiritual issues of our
lives. For most of us, they're as much about the near and dear as they are
about the high and holy. A Holiday Gathering is certainly near and dear to
me, and I hope that its portrayal of a congenial gathering of family and
friends will be near and dear to you as well. Of all the holiday rituals, the
one I prize the most is the coming together of loved ones in shared
celebration. Even if our family circle is small, the Christmas season can
become a benchmark of friendship, a time we pause to savor traditions of
comfort and joy.
I find the settings of A Holiday Gathering exquisitly comfortable. Nestled
beneath wintery trees and luminous sky,
the rambling village homes gleam with a warm, welcoming light that spills
into the street, inviting one and all to join in the gathering. Celebrants
gather in quiet groups on porches to visit, gossip, perhaps sing a round of
favorite Christmas carols. Vintage cars, Christmas lights, and even a dog or
two complete this nostalgic scene. It's what I've come to think of as a
"Norman Rockwell Christmas" -- warm, welcoming, traditional."
